A variety of landscapes are found at The Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, east of Alamosa, Colorado, in the San Luis Valley. The park boasts the tallest dunes in North America, as well as a diverse collection of grasslands, wetlands, conifer and aspen forests, alpine lakes, and tundra. But on my recent trip to the Dunes, I just concentrated taking sand dune abstract photographs.

2017 RMOWP Photography Awards

After sunset, lights illuminate the openings of the ten charcoal kilns located at the end of Wildrose Canyon in Death Valley National Park, California. This is a 2017 RMOWP awards winner.

We are so pleased to announce that Bill is a 2017 RMOWP photography awards winner.  He won three Firsts, two Seconds, and three Thirds in the annual photography contest at the 2017 Rocky Mountain Outdoor Writers and Photographers conference in Sierra Vista, Arizona. In addition, he also got seven honorable mentions.
