Alamogordo, New Mexico, is one of our favorite places to photograph. There are many unique places to visit within 50 miles of the city. These places include: New Mexico Museum of Space History, White Sands National Park, Cloudcroft, Valley of Fire, and Three Rivers Petroglyph Site.

Moundville Archaeological Park is south of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The park protects 326 areas along the Black Warrior River. Within Moundville are the remains of an ancient Mississippian settlement. And at its height, this settlement consisted of 29 flat-topped earthen mounds, surrounding a large central plaza.

Thirty-five miles north of Alamogordo is Three Rivers Petroglyph Site. At this site, there are over 21,000 petroglyphs within an area of 50 acres. The site is half-way between Corrizozo and Tularosa, off US Highway 54.
