Monument Valley Memories

We stopped in Monument Valley on our way to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Although we have never visited, the first expansive views seem so familiar. And, we can thank John Ford and his movies Stagecoach and The Searchers!

Photographs from Monument Valley Tribal Park

We took these photographs in late September.

About the Tribal Park

Straddling the Utah-Arizona border, the Monument Valley is part of the Navajo Nation. It is accessible using US Highway 163. There is no charge if you stay on this highway. However, there is more to see if you take a for-fee 17-mile dirt road that winds through the park.

The Tribal Park offers tours to other areas of the park, such as Mystery Valley and Hunt’s Mesa. Wikipedia provides a good overview of the park: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monument_Valley.
