New York Cityscapes in Late Fall

I normally do not join tour groups. However, I decided to give a New York photo tour a try. I am glad I did; because, I was able to take some New York cityscapes from areas that are normally restricted.

The organizers arranged travel and permits. And, as a result, I had no difficulties taking my New York cityscapes from various popular Manhattan locations. For instance, the group was given access to the top of 30 Rockefeller Center at dawn as well as the USS Intrepid. We also took a night river tour, where we photographed the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge, and the Statue of Liberty. Here are some cityscapes I hope you enjoy:

Manhattan architecture

While walking along the streets of Manhattan, I was captivated by the architecture of the new—and old— buildings all around me. Here are some of my favorite shots.

Times Square

One night our group trouped to Times Square in the drizzle to experience the lights and sounds of the city that never sleeps.

Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is visible in the Hudson River from many locations at the southern end of Manhattan. Our group was lucky enough to view the statue from a nighttime boat trip.

Brooklyn Bridge

Several times over the course of a week, we visited the Brooklyn Bridge. One time we visited as pedestrians and the other time from the comfort of a river cruise.

Rockefeller Center

The top of 30 Rockefeller Center provides a terrific view of Manhattan—mainly at sunrise. Talk about New York cityscapes!!

USS Intrepid

The USS Intrepid is an air museum on an aircraft carrier whose exhibits include a Concorde, submarine & space shuttle. On another misty day, our tour group had the run of the ship.

Central Park

Central Park is a jewel in the heart of Manhattan. From The Pond to the Bethesda Fountain, there was stunning scenery and fascinating architecture.
