White Sands is now a national park as of 2020. Rare, snow-white dune fields composed of gypsum crystals, called selenite, give White Sands National Park its name. It is located in the Tularosa Basin just south of Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Sand dune abstract photographs
A variety of landscapes are found at The Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, east of Alamosa, Colorado, in the San Luis Valley. The park boasts the tallest dunes in North America, as well as a diverse collection of grasslands, wetlands, conifer and aspen forests, alpine lakes, and tundra. But on my recent trip to the Dunes, I just concentrated taking sand dune abstract photographs.
