2017 Denver Audubon Society First Prize winner

The winning photograph, entitled Serenity, was taken in Plitvice National Park in Croatia. It is an autumn scene that shows the reflection of a tree branch and clouds in beautiful blue water. Swimming just beneath the water’s surface are brown trout.

The judges

The judges for this year’s contest were Amy Gulick, George Lepp, and Boyd Norton. And, they had their work cut out for them with over 2000 entries from around the world. Here is more information about the judges.

Additional award

First Light on Mount Hayden placed in the top 250 Highly Commended Photographs. The Audubon Society of Greater Denver’s will feature one of these photographs on its website throughout 2018.
